Infinity Training and Assessing can offer a variety of signalling training courses at either our own premises in Horsley Cross or at our customers' premises (subject to the correct material/equipment being available).

The instructors provided will be highly experienced in the technical subject and either be working towards the recommended level 4 trainer qualification or will have already achieved this or higher.

Who should attend
The course is designed for first line faulting and maintenance staff who already have a good working knowledge of railway signalling.

Objectives
On successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
  • Understand the principles and operations of a HVI track circuit
  • Complete maintenance and testing on a HVI track circuit as stated in the current SMS.
  • Fault find basic right side failures and understand how to rectify them.
  • Understand the hazards and dangers of a HVI track circuit.
  • Replace and retest any HVI track circuit component.
  • Be able to complete a maintenance record card correctly and check to relevant specifications.

Learning approach
30% classroom based theory
70% Practical sessions including trainer demonstrations and hands on testing and fault finding sessions.
Theory and practical assessments to verify the understanding of the delegates.

Pre-requisites
Delegates must have a good understanding of railway signalling principles and have completed a Basic Signalling One course or equivalent.
