Delegates whose work involves the maintenance and/or fault finding of points heaters. The course is designed for delegates who already have a good understanding of points.

On successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

• Identify all the major components of the points heater systems
• Understand the reasons why points heaters are required
• Understand the basic principles of operation of points heaters
• Order the correct components for maintenance and repairs
• Test the trackside components to highlight any problems or issues
• Understand the basic maintenance requirements for points heater systems
• Know the limits of authority when working with points heaters

100% classroom-based including theory sessions using PowerPoint, visual aids and scenarios.
A theory assessment will be carried out to verify delegates' understanding and a certificate will be issued to candidates achieving an 80% pass mark.

Delegates need a good knowledge of working with points.
