Who should attend

This course is designed for existing SMTH testers with SFI or Signalling Works Testers with operational experience. The course will enable the delegate to undertake the role of a G110 Author and Checker as defined within NR/L2/CTM/012/056.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course delegates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

  • The requirements of the role of a G110 Author and Checker
  • Writing new Test Schedules
  • Checking a Test Schedule
  • Network Rail Standard NR/LZ/SIG/30014/G110
  • What information is required to complete a Test Schedule including where and how to obtain it
  • Checking the documentation received is current and authorised to use
  • What principles, design installation and test procedures apply to the schedule
  • Their limits of testing and authority as a G110 Author and Checker
  • Estimating the amount of time, personnel and resources that are required to complete the work.

Learning approach

60% theory based using PowerPoint presentations, demonstrations and open discussions.
40% practical based scenarios producing and checking a Test Schedule.
The course includes a written theory test and a practical assessment against a unique scenario based exercise.

Pre-requisites

The delegate must hold a current SMTH certificate including SFI or have equivalent experience in any role where they have demonstrated an equality of competence in Signal Works Testing or delivery.
