The course is designed for delegates who need to undertake installation or testing of Silec Type Treadles.

By the end of this course successful delegates will be able to:

• Understand the difference between Cautor and Forfex type treadles
• Be capable of installing Silec treadles trackside
• Understand the working components of the treadles and how they interface with the signalling circuits
• Be able to set up the Silec treadle to the latest SMS and complete the relevant record card

40% classroom based using PowerPoint, proactive discussions, diagrams and drawings.
60% practical fitting a Silec treadle to the rails and testing it into service.
Practical and theory assessments will be undertaken to check the delegates' understanding.

Delegates are expected to have a basic understanding of the signalling industry and be able to read location diagrams.
