Signal Works Testing Module 3A

Who should attend

This course is designed for delegates who plan to undertake a role as Works Testing Verifiers for testing within a factory environment. It is for delegates who already have a railway signalling background and testing knowledge.

Objectives

On successful completion of the training course the delegates will have a basic understanding of how to do the following:

  • Use test equipment correctly and safely
  • Perform Location verification tests
  • Carry out cable testing
  • Complete Panel inspection, wire count and continuity tests
  • Complete equipment inspections, wire count and continuity tests
  • Document and record test activities to the required standards
Learning approach

40% classroom-based using diagrams, PowerPoint presentations and visual aids.
60% practical sessions working on a variety of equipment.
Theory and practical assessments are undertaken to verify delegates understanding.

Pre-requisites

Ideally the candidate should have attended Diagram Reading and SPWEE courses and have a good knowledge of installation standards prior to attending the MOD 3A course.
