Who should attend

This course is designed for delegates who may be required to work in low risk confined spaces or those who require an overview of the subject.

Objectives

On successful completion of this training course the delegates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of working in confined spaces. In addition to this they will have knowledge of:

  • Current legislation
  • Identifying the meaning of a confined space
  • Identifying the types of confined space
  • Understanding the hazards
  • Assisting with confined space controls
  • Recognising the importance of communication and emergency procedures
  • Safety equipment and PPE required

Learning approach

70% theory based using PowerPoint presentations, demonstrations, video and open discussion.
30% practical using scenarios and team working.
At the end of the course delegates will undertake a theory assessment to demonstrate their understanding of working in a Confined Space.

Pre-requisites

None required, although a brief theory and practical assessment is undertaken at the end of the course and so it must be highlighted prior to the booking if delegates require any additional support.
