This course is designed for existing SMTH testers with SFI or Signalling Works Testers with operational experience. The course will enable the delegate to undertake the role of a G110 Tester or Lead Tester as defined within NR/L2/CTM/012/055.

On successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:

• Describe the requirements of a G110 tester/lead tester
• Determine where they can obtain information from regarding the nature and scope of the work
• Highlight which specifications, reports, engineering drawings, diagrams, manuals and any relevant materials are required for the work
• Complete test documentation and demonstrate an understanding of the procedures
• Demonstrate they could carry out the required tests and checks for the work using specific scenario exercises
• Highlight how to resolve a fault design change or equipment replacement

30% Practical scenarios applying the G110 procedures
The course has both theory and practical assessments in which an appropriate pass mark must be achieved before a certificate is issued.
On successful completion a new SMTH card will be issued with existing expiry of the SMTH card allowing re-certification to re-occur simultaneously to SMTH Recerts.

Delegates must hold a current SMTH certificate including SFI Level 1 or have operational experience in any role where they can demonstrate an equality of competence in signal works testing or works delivery.
