Who should attend

This course is designed for signalling staff who will potentially be working in a faulting and maintenance environment.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand and describe the wording of a generic signalling circuit.
  • Relate the signalling diagram to the equipment to be tested and highlight particular components.
  • Understand and diagnose various signalling faults working from relevant signalling drawings.
  • Demonstrate a methodical approach to faulting signalling equipment.
  • Describe some of the more common faults found trackside and how to prevent them.

Learning approach

60% classroom based with PowerPoint presentations, active discussions and scenario sessions.
40% Practical based, fault finding and following relevant diagrams.
Practical and theory assessments to gauge the understanding of the delegate.

Pre-requisites

It is expected that delegates will have attended a Diagram Reading course or have a good understanding of reading signalling diagrams.
It is also anticipated that delegates would have a good working knowledge of the signalling environment and have already attended a Basic Signalling One or Two training course.
