Who should attend

The course is designed for first line faulting and maintenance staff who already have a good working knowledge of railway signalling.

Objectives

On successful completion of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the operation and principles of a TI21 track circuit
  • Complete maintenance and testing of the TI21 track circuit as stated in the SMS.
  • Fault find basic right side failures and understand how to rectify them.
  • Replace and re-test any TI21 track circuit component.
  • Be able to complete maintenance records cards correctly and check to relevant specifications.

Learning approach

30% classroom based theory
70% practical sessions including trainer demonstrations and hands on testing and fault finding sessions.
Theory and practical assessments to verify the understanding of the delegates.

Pre-requisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of railway signalling principles and have completed a Basic Signalling One course or equivalent.
