Who should attend

This course is intended to provide delegates with a full understanding of the use of an Angle Grinder and the method of carrying out these duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Objectives

At the end of this course the delegates will: -

  • Fully understand the responsibilities relating to the operation of angle grinders
  • Understand the competent persons role within that system
  • Be able to identify of the types of abrasive wheels to be used on an angle grinder
  • Fully understand the safety requirements included in the Regulations
  • Be aware of and avoid the dangers when using the angle grinder
  • Be able to safely check the angle grinder prior to use and know what action to take with faulty equipment
  • Know how to mount the abrasive wheel and undertake cutting with the saw
  • Know the operating precautions to be applied
  • Learning approach

    30 % classroom-based with PowerPoint presentations and visual aids
    70% practical-based
    Basic theory and practical assessment to gauge the understanding of the delegate.
