This course is designed for all customers who are likely to undertake manual handling within their workplace.

On successful completion of the training course the delegates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of correct manual handling. In addition to this they will have knowledge of:

• Identifying risks associated with lifting and assess the number of people required to lift heavier items.
• Describe the manual handling operation
• Carry out basic lifting techniques
• Describe their role and the regulatory requirements of employees and employers

30% theory-based using PowerPoint presentations, demonstrations, videos and open discussions.
70% practical-based demonstrating correct lifting techniques utilising different objects.
Theory and practical assessments will be undertaken to demonstrate delegates understanding of manual handling principles.

None required, although a brief theory and practical assessment is undertaken at the end of the course and so it must be highlighted prior to the booking if delegates require any additional support.
