This course is designed for delegates who have little or no knowledge of electrical principles.

On successful completion of the course delegates will be able to:

• Understand fundamental units
• Test basic circuitry and understand principles
• Demonstrate an understanding of Ohm's Law
• Understand the principles of series and parallel circuits
• Understand the principles of magnetism
• Demonstrate that they can use a test meter safely on the correct settings

50% theory using PowerPoint, active discussion, diagrams and visual aids.

50% practical with demonstrations on a variety of electrical and electronic equipment and hands-on practice with test meters.

A theory assessment will be carried out to check delegates' understanding.

Ideally the candidate will have a good knowledge of the English language and some electrical experience would be an advantage.
