Infinity Training is an RTAS-assured training and assessment provider (RTAS0506), approved to deliver this course.

This course is designed for SMTH Testers who already hold the Core Competence and wish to expand their testing capability to include Aspect Testing. It is also suitable for delegates who have been assessed as not yet competent in Aspect Testing and wish to gain the competence.

Delegates must provide evidence of holding the Core Competence before booking this course.

On successful completion of the SMTH Aspect Module training course, delegates will be able to carry out the following as an SMTH Tester in Action Learning:

• Understand how to perform the checks and tests contained within the defined Test B07 Aspect Testing, including:

• • Correspondence
  • Lamp Proving
  • Filament Change Over
  • Signal Post replacement
  • Adequate Sighting
  • Alignment
  • Extraneous Lighting

Delegates will take part in a combination of theory and practical sessions designed to help them achieve the required competence. This is followed by theory and practical assessments, both of which must be successfully completed to be awarded this competence.

Following successful completion of the course, mentorship is required trackside within the permitted Network Rail timescale guidelines. Once mentorship has been completed, delegates are expected to return to an approved training centre for an SMTH Practical Assessment. 

The delegate must hold SMTH Core as a Tester in Action Learning or Competent Tester to attend this training.
