Who should attend

Infinity Training is an RTAS-assured training and assessment provider (RTAS0506), approved to complete this assessment.

This event is for individuals who have successfully completed SEM1/2 or equivalent and wish to progress their careers into Signal Maintenance Testing.

Note, this is an SMTH pre-test and no tuition is permitted or provided.

Objectives

The objective of this session is to provide individuals with the opportunity of completing the SMTH Pre-Initial Training Knowledge Test which is a mandatory requirement for attending the SMTH Initial course.

On successful completion the individual is permitted to attend the 10 day SMTH Initial course within the next 12 months.

Learning approach

This is a controlled theory test only and no training is provided on the day. A well-prepared individual would review their SEM1/2 course notes and the Signal Maintenance Specifications prior to attending.

The event consists of registration and ID card checks followed by a two hour theory assessment under exam conditions. The papers are then marked and results provided to delegates.

Pre-requisites

Delegates must hold a valid Sentinel card with no restrictions (please email if you have restrictions and we will investigate your individual needs directly with Network Rail).

Delegates must also hold SEM1/2 or equivalent and have good experience of maintaining equipment trackside.
