SMTH (Signal Maintenance Testing Handbook) Refresher course

Who should attend

Infinity Training is an RTAS-assured training and assessment provider (RTAS0506), approved to deliver this SMTH courses and assessments.

The course is designed for delegates who already hold SMTH but require refreshing on the competences prior to attending the one day one to one assessment.

Evidence of valid SMTH competences on Sentinel is required prior to attending the course.

Objectives

Delegates will be refreshed on the following areas (assuming they already hold these competences):

Core Skills
Aspect Testing
Points Testing
Cable Function Testing
Diversion of a Circuit

At the beginning of the session delegates will be provided with the Pre-Practical Knowledge Test. In preparation delegates should read the latest SMTH and relevant parts of the Rule Book and SMS.

Learning approach

40% theory with pro-active scenarios and discussions to assist the delegates with their understanding.

60% practical sessions with demonstrations and time for delegates to practice and reinforce the theory sessions relating to the defined tests.

Pre-requisites

Delegates are expected to provide evidence of their current SMTH competences together withe vidence that they have been completing SMTH work.
