Who should attend

This course is designed for first line faulting and maintenance staff who have a good working knowledge of railway signalling.

Objectives

On successful completion of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the principles and operation of EBI 200 track circuits
  • Understand the differences between the traditional TI21 and EBI 200 track circuits 
  • Set the gain settings for the traditional TI21 units and EBI 200 track circuits
  • Understand the set-up and test procedure for EBI 200 track circuits
  • Complete maintenance and testing on EBI 200 track circuits to the current SMS
  • Fault find basic right-side faults and understand how to rectify them
  • Remove, replace and re-test EBI 200 track circuit components to the relevant standards
  • Complete a maintenance record card correctly and check it to relevant specifications

Learning approach

30% classroom based theory with PowerPoint presentation, component demonstrations and active discussions

70% practical sessions including trainer demonstrations, hands-on testing, fault finding and component wiring, and cabling replacement sessions

Pre-requisites

Delegates must have a good understanding of railway signalling principles and ideally will have completed a Basic Signalling One course or equivalent.
