Courses

Electrical Principles Two

Number of Delegates: 8

Duration: 5 days

Location: Horsley Cross

Who should attend

This course is designed for delegates who require in-depth knowledge of electrical principles and a good understanding of relevant formulas including putting them into practice

Objectives

On successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:

  • Use a fluke multimeter and demonstrate its use in live circuits
  • Follow basic diagrams through relay circuitry continuity testing circuits
  • Wire a simple circuit to a diagram and provide detailed measurements using a variety of test equipment
  • Understand the use of diodes, capacitors and resistors in circuits
  • Power an electric motor, understand its principles and calculate relevant readings to determine potential issues
  • Calculate RMS, Peak to Peak, Peak values, Frequency and Period Time of a Sine Wave
  • Calculate power consumed in circuits to determine relevant transformer sizes
  • Understand basic electrical fault finding techniques using live equipment and diagrams

Learning approach

50% theory using PowerPoint, active discussions, diagrams, visual aids and demonstrations

50% practical working with practical scenarios, testing on live equipment and wiring circuits

A theory and practical assessment is carried out to check the delegates’ understanding

Pre-requisites

Delegates are expected to have a good understanding of electrical principles and ideally will have attended an Electrical Principles One course.
